Olympic Games 2010!
03/03/2010We LOVE sports, we all know that, but you wouldn’t catch us in the winter Olympics. These athletes are of a different breed!! Flying down ice in the luge and bobsled, skiing at insane speed down the side of a mountain, jumping on skis 20+ feet in the air WHILE doing 5 rotations AND 3 flips…goodness gracious- talk about living on the edge!! We loved the Olympics this year. My favorite Olympic sport to watch has always been the women’s figure skating. From the days of Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding/Kristy Yamaguchi/Michelle Kwan I have been hooked on the sport!! This year I didn’t do my research and didn’t know who the top skaters were but Yu-Na Kim and her two amazing performances sure did capture my attention.
Eric’s favorite winter Olympic sport is Ice Hockey of course- no surprise to anyone!! What a great showing by the USA team especially being the youngest team in the Olympics!! When the USA was beating Finland 6-0 in the 1st quarter we were confident in our team making it to the gold medal game and sent out the invitation to friends and family to join us at our house for the main event!! A great game, didn’t end the way we had hoped but at the end of the day we were happy with the performance of the team!! GO USA!! And for the party of course we had chilli and patriotic cup cakes for all to enjoy!!
